It was great experience. We have visited the zoo and breakfast with the orangutans 3 times and loved everything time. Only negative thing I would say that it was a bit disappointing yesterday that there was only 1 orangutan to view in the breakfast area who did not move or show interest in the activity. If you are having breakfast with the orangutans (plural) there needs to be a few on show to view.

Food was good and had something for everyone on the buffet. Staff were attentive and friendly. All the zoo keepers were very professional and the animals all seemed to be cared for very well. Everyone was given the opportunity to get some fantastic photos with the orangutan as well as a range of other animals. The only thing I was not happy with was that the zoo is still using elephants for rides which is not good for them. Other than that, I couldn't fault the experience, it was excellent.

Bali Zoo – A Cozy Family Outing in a Convenient Location Bali Zoo is a warm, well-maintained zoo that offers a pleasant experience for families, especially those with young children. Located in a convenient spot near Ubud, it’s easy to reach and makes for a nice half-day trip. The zoo is divided into three main areas, connected by a short and frequent shuttle service, which makes getting around comfortable and hassle-free. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, always ready to guide you or assist with questions, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. While the grounds are clean and the animals well cared for, the zoo is relatively small. Expect to spend about 2–3 hours max. There are a few engaging animal encounters, but many of the more interactive experiences require additional fees. It’s also worth noting that the zoo lacks some iconic animals like giraffes and hippos, and could benefit from more immersive stops to keep children fully entertained. Ticket prices are on the higher side for foreign visitors, which may not feel entirely justified for such a short visit. That said, the overall environment is peaceful, family-friendly, and easy to enjoy. Recommended for a relaxed family outing — just go in with the right expectations.

This was hands down one of the most incredible experiences of our entire trip to Bali. The "Elephant Feeding & Mud Bath" at Bali Zoo exceeded all expectations - from the warm hospitality of the staff to the once-in-a-lifetime chance to get up close with these gentle giants. Getting into the water and scrubbing down an elephant while it splashed around was surreal and surprisingly emotional. It’s not every day you get to connect with such majestic animals in such a personal way. The setting of the zoo itself is lush and well-maintained, and the team made sure everything felt safe, respectful, and animal-focused. You could tell the elephants are loved and well cared for. If you're in Bali and looking for something meaningful, interactive, and memorable - this is it. Worth every cent. Highly recommend booking in advance and wearing something you don't mind getting a bit muddy!
